- Embrace the Weird and Wonderful at Talliston House & Gardens
What was once an ordinary house on an ordinary street, Talliston House has since been transformed into an exciting labyrinth. Each room in the house and garden outside has its own story, smells and sounds to create something truly magical. If you’ve fallen in love with a Grimm’s fairy tale, delighted over Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland or dreamed of flying with Peter Pan to Neverland, you’ve arrived at the right doorway!
- Immerse Yourself in Nature at Hatfield Forest
Beautiful Hatfield Forest is a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and National Nature Reserve covering 403 hectares in Essex. Managed by the National Trust, the forest features ancient woodland, pastures, lakes, sites of archaeological remains and is considered one of the only forests in England to contain all the elements of a medieval forest.
- Learn Something New at the Great Dunmow Maltings & Museum
Great Dunmow Maltings is a rare example of a market town timber-framed malthouse, with much of the structure dating back to the 16th century. The malthouse was last functional in 1948 as part of the Old Dunmow Brewery Company. It is recognised as a building of special architectural and historic importance by English Heritage, and is one of only 4% of listed buildings in the country with Grade 2 status.
