We are William and Monique, we have been together for 38 years, and we are parents of 4 children. We have chosen to exchange our hectic life in the Netherlands for a life with more fun and quality of life in Portugal. After raising our four children, we have replaced them with 2 dogs and 2 cats, but also our children visit us frequently. We have visited many places in the area and we can advise our guests regarding trips, historic places, beaches, restaurants and hiking and biking in the nature based on our own experiences.For us, the most important thing is to welcome and treat our guests as we would like to be treated ourselves. We have travelled a great deal in our lives, and we have experience in how to make our guests enjoy their stay and all the beauty and delights that the area has to offer. Giving our guests the "feeling of a home", with great hospitality in a relaxed environment is our goal. We see it as a privilege to introduce our guests to all the beauty and flavors that Portugal has to offer.
The desire that we both cherished brought us to Batalha in Central Portugal, because of its central location between a treasure of historical sites and close to the “Silver Coast” and the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park. The famous world heritage monastery is a must see. After that our place is the perfect starting point to visit the miracle of Fatima, the queen city of Óbidos, the beautiful monastery of Alcobaça, the "Convento de Cristo" in Tomar and many other sights of interest.                                                                                                  For beach lovers there are many different beaches within 30-40 km.; the famous Nazaré with the fortress and the beautiful church on the "Sitio" and the beautiful beaches with sometimes waves of 25 - 30 meters high and the quiet coastal villages "Valé de Paredes and Pedro de Moel with their own charm. The city of Leiria with the beautiful old town and the "Castello" and many fine restaurants and authentic shopping opportunities is also very nice for a day out. The cities of Coimbra, Lisbon and Porto can be visited for a day out.
